Hierarchy is for corporate dinosaurs who love red tape and pointless meetings that could have been emails. We do things differently. Meet the team (minus dev crew, because they're next)!
That is so synchronistic. I have a friend who's the ops lead at IONS and he recommended that to me ages ago. We just talked about it the other day and I thought to myself "I really need to read that." My copy is in storage because I'm traveling atm, but this comment has convinced me to have a copy sent to current location. Thanks so much <3
Please do something to not ignore BIPOC leaders from around the world. We get white spots, AKA blind spots if we don’t. Just saying, not being critical.
We value merit and expertise above all else, which is why our team was built through anonymous contributions on Reddit, focusing on the quality of ideas rather than appearances. Had no idea what they looked like.
This approach ensures fairness and avoids tokenism, which can be demeaning and counterproductive.
While the tech industry is predominantly white (70%), our team includes individuals from diverse backgrounds, and we remain committed to fostering an inclusive culture that values everyone's unique contributions.
I’m a (book) editor and am interested in contributing as needed. Also, have we landed on “PeopleTalk” as the chosen spelling moving forward? It has my vote!
I am so excited about the ethos of this build. I'm old, can only contribute financially, but I am so grateful for all of the progressive, forward thinking individuals working so hard to bring this about. Thank you for your hardwork and vision Chiara and all who are contributing their many gifts to this much needed project.
Thank you for your interest! We don't have a legal team at the moment. I’d love to better understand how you see your expertise contributing at this stage of the app's development :)
Let me clarify: we have someone our financial steward will intro us to for incorporation. Obviously we don’t have a need for litigation atm (or hopefully ever lol), which is why I was curious what you think the fit might be atm!
Is there a sign up somewhere to be able to contribute?
There is now, just because you asked ;p 🫶

Highly recommend the book “Reinventing Organizations” by Frederic Laloux.

We will vote on a name! It's morphed from PeopleTok --> PeepleTalk --> PeopleTalk lol.
Feel free to submit here, might be good to get an editor's eyes on outgoing copy as the Substack grows :)
