TL;DR: AT protocol is like having a whole cake from a master baker to frost. But Nostr is like having some eggs and you need to go find all of the other ingredients
Basically it feels comparison of these two muggy be ambiguous because they are hugely different actors in the area. İt's like comparing potatos and tomatos
Went ahead and asked chatgpt, about more alternatives. The AT protocol still wins. Just a bit of a caution, the AT protocol is being maintained by a centralized entity (bluesky). Yes the code is open source but let's not forget we don't have capacity yet to maintain that code if one day for some reason we fall of fwith that entity.
It IS like comparing potatoes and tomatoes! But we wrote this because we get tons of comments saying "Nostr already is this app." Which, as you know, doesn't make sense.
Good point about it being open source (not to mention VC backed), and we're looking at ways of addressing the ties to AT proto post roadmap ;)
While not being familiar with either of those, I think you made the correct decision. Since you're using a big ball of code from someone else, I think it would be useful to throw some static code analysis at it.. and also assess it against cryptographic stupidity.

I write on nostr. People pay me in bitcoin using the lightning network. I send bitcoin to other people. Nostr is an online marketplace of ideas.
Seems one sided as AT isn't perfect. Didn't ask about why you might not pick AT.
Here's a less playful, more straightforward version: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B-2--OPIyQKF_VF-NqNJlxlffYQ5daAAeF5X27BAd_o/edit?usp=sharing

Here's the result of my conversation with GPT
